How Do I Know If I Need a Root Canal?

What Will Happen During My Root Canal Therapy Appointment?

During your appointment, Dr. Ferraro will anesthetize the affected tooth, immediately relieving you of any discomfort. Then, she will isolate the tooth and make a small hole on the chewing surface in order to gain access to your infected nerve tissue. She will then remove the infected tissue and apply agents that will effectively remove all bacteria and infection from the canal space. Once fully cleaned, the canal space will be filled, and the tooth will be sealed. Depending upon the tooth, a tooth-colored restoration or a crown will be required to preserve the tooth’s strength and appearance.
